Gwendoline Mary Moody
Gwendoline Mary Moody was born on 26 March 1905, in West End, Hampshire, the eldest daughter of James Edward and Mary Moody. After leaving school she spent time in service in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, and at the vicarage in Fawley, Hampshire. It was presumably while in service in Fawley that she met Lionel Vane Smith whom she married on 8 September 1934 at St James's church, West End. They lived in Holbury in Fawley parish for all their married life, and their two children were born there. Gwendonline died on 26 May 1972, aged 67, and Lionel died on 27 July 1980, aged 76. They are buried at All Saints, Fawley.
